The Black Queens made it back-to-back Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualification following their big win over Egypt.
Ghana recorded a 7-0 scoreline over two legs to book a ticket to the continental showpiece once again after returning to the tournament for the first time since 2018 earlier this year.
Having picked up a 3-0 win in Ismailia last Thursday, the Black Queens scored four goals at the Accra Sports Stadium in the return leg.
Doris Boaduwaa scored a hattrick in one of her best performances for the national team with Comfort Yeboah grabbing her maiden national team for the Black Queens.
Despite the row over the unpaid bonuses the Black Queens turned up in style to impress Ghanaians in Tuesday’s fixture.
The game ended 0-0 after the opening 45 minutes despite Ghana being presented with numerous chances in that spell.
However, it was a different story in the second half.
Quick-fire goals from Boaduwaa in the 52nd and 55th minutes opened up the Egyptian defence.
The Israeli-based forward capitalised on a goalkeeping spillage after Jennifer Cudjoe’s ball over the defence to open the scoring.
She later attacked Princess Marfo’s low cross to space to double the lead.
Comfort Yeboah joined in on the action moments later with a teasing ball from just inside the penalty box that beat the Egyptian goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
Just when it looked like that game was going to end 3-0, the Black Queens added a third through Boaduwaa to seal a 4-0 win on the afternoon.
The result sees Kim Lars Bjorkegren’s side secure a ticket to play at next year’s WAFCON which will also be held in Morocco.
The tournament will serve as the qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup slated for Brazil.
