The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimiah, has called on chiefs, youth, settlers and opinion leaders in Kulaw to work together to promote peace, unity and development in the area.
Addressing participants at the Kulaw 2025 Youth Homecoming durbar held at Buma, the MP stressed that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual understanding.
“Lasting development can only be achieved where there is peace, unity and cooperation among the people,” she said.
Her remarks come against the backdrop of recent tensions surrounding the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) appointment process. Ms Ibrahimiah explained that the process was conducted in line with due procedure and urged residents to remain calm and united as the community focuses on development.
Touching on development initiatives, the MP outlined several ongoing and planned projects in the constituency. These include the construction of classroom blocks and health facilities in Prang communities such as Akamadey, Kokodame and Basare, as well as a proposed steel bridge at Sarikibona Prang to improve accessibility.
She also announced plans to establish an agricultural mechanisation centre, aimed at supporting farmers and boosting agricultural productivity in the area.
On education, Ms Ibrahimiah disclosed that a proposal for a Community Senior High School in Kulaw has been approved, with funding support expected from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).
The Salaga South MP commended the Kulaw traditional authorities and the youth for sustaining the annual homecoming event, describing it as a vital platform for fostering unity and development.
She reaffirmed her commitment to working with all stakeholders to deliver meaningful development projects for Kulaw and the wider Salaga South Constituency, urging residents to place collective progress above individual differences.
