A delegation from the Right to Information Commission (RTI) paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George (MP), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and advance the effective implementation of the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989).
The delegation was led by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Genevieve Shirley Lartey, Esq., and included members of the newly inaugurated Governing Board.
The visit provided an opportunity to formally introduce the Board and engage the Minister on strategic areas of mutual interest.

Present at the meeting were the Board Chair, Dr. James Asante; Board Member, Kobby Woyome; and the Secretary to the Board, Christine Yieleh-Chireh.
Discussions centred on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry and the Commission, particularly in the areas of information management, digital governance, and the promotion of public access to information.

The engagement also emphasised the importance of coordinated institutional efforts in improving transparency, accountability, and efficient public service delivery.

Samuel Nartey George welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with the Commission to support the full achievement of the objectives of the Right to Information Act.
