Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori says he is focused on his performances right now despite eyeing a return to the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to iDiski Times, the AmaZulu goalkeeper admitted that while the dream of representing Ghana in North America drives him, he knows the only way to get there is through consistent performances.
“I’m working hard and focusing on my team at the moment. That’s what you need to do if you want to be there [at the World Cup],” he said.
The former Orlando Pirates shot-stopper also revealed he hasn’t spoken to Black Stars coach Otto Addo recently but holds no grudges.
“Recently, no. I haven’t spoken to the coach. But before, he used to call and check up on his players. He’s a good man. He hasn’t abandoned anyone; he just focuses more on those who are actively playing, especially since the qualifiers were so intense,” Ofori explained.
For now, the 31-year-old’s goal is to help AmaZulu push higher up the South African Premier League table, a task he believes will strengthen his claim for a national team recall.
