Founder and Chairperson of the People’s National Party (PNP), Janet Asana Nabila, has cautioned against the growing influence of election pollsters on the country’s democratic process.
Speaking on JoyPrime’s Prime Morning on Monday, Ms Nabila argued that electoral surveys should not be allowed to sway voters, insisting that such polls often end up giving what is not meant to be.
She cited several examples, including the most recent survey on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming presidential primaries, which predicted a victory for Kennedy Agyapong in January 2026.
“To me as a politician, polls influence election. Don’t allow any pollster to put up a narrative that this is what is happening, like the way they made former Vice President Bawumia to have 70% and Kennedy Agyapong was behind, now, another research has come and he (Kennedy) is up there.”
“Don’t allow any pollster to bring you down,” she added.
Her comments come in the wake of a new survey by Academic Researchers, which projects that NPP stalwart Kennedy Agyapong is likely to secure victory in the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for January next year.
