In a spectacular celebration of excellence, UNICHEM Ghana Limited, in partnership with LUEX Healthcare, lit up this year’s Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) Annual General Meeting with a once-in-a-lifetime giveaway, a fully paid trip to Dubai.
The winning name was drawn by Dr Samuel Donkoh, former president of PSGH, and the prestigious prize was presented by Phm. Solomon Odamten and the Unichem Ghana team to Dr Robert Inkoom of Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH).
Nine runner-up pharmacists were also honoured, making this year’s AGM one of the most memorable moments in Ghana’s pharmaceutical calendar.

The initiative, dubbed “King & Queen of the Counter”, was designed to mark World Pharmacists Day 2026, celebrating the professionals who have been central to LUEX’s journey in Ghana. For decades, pharmacists nationwide have stood as trusted gatekeepers of healthcare, guiding patients to effective treatments and championing brands that have become household names.
Among these are Mycolex, the trusted antifungal; Diclolex, widely used for pain and inflammation; Wormbat, the family dewormer; and the ever-reliable LUEX Cough Syrup, a harmattan-season staple. These brands, under the UNICHEM and LUEX umbrella, remain daily touch points in the lives of Ghanaians, reflecting the company’s mission to strengthen primary healthcare and ensure access to quality medicines.

Speaking at the presentation, Senior Pharmacist of Unichem Limited, Phm. Solomon Odamten reaffirmed the company’s commitment to elevating the profession and rewarding excellence:
“Our pharmacists are pillars of the healthcare system. To see them recognised in this way, not just as dispensers of medicine but as brand ambassadors and community heroes, is a powerful moment for all of us. LUEX continues to lead the way.”
The Dubai prize package includes three nights and four days of luxury accommodation, return flights, a visa, and full-board meals.
For participating pharmacists, the competition was more than a test of knowledge. It was a reminder of their vital role in building trust with patients and ensuring that Ghana’s leading healthcare brands remain accessible, effective, and impactful.
As LUEX continues to innovate and deliver world-class pharmaceuticals across Ghana, the company has once again demonstrated that its greatest strength lies in its partnership with the professionals behind the counter.
For Dr Robert Inkoom, dedication to his profession has indeed turned into a life-changing journey.
