Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, known widely as Medikal, has dismissed claims that he is rude, insisting he is simply driven and passionate about his craft.
In an interview on the Prime Time on Joy Prime, he said his is often misunderstood, explaining that it is his passion that fuels his work and propels his success.
Medikal noted that the perception of rudeness does not reflect who he is.
“People say I’m rude but I’m not. I’m passionate and driven with my career. It’s the passion that drives me to new levels in life,” he said.
He added that his hunger for progress keeps him restless.
“I might have the hottest song today and still wake up to go to the studio the next day. I’m hungry for what I do. That’s what gears and energizes me to keep pushing forward,” he noted.
He stressed that repetition remains a key ingredient in his journey and attributed his rise to his natural ability.
“My journey has been built on talent. It’s my talent that has taken me far. Talent is the prime source of my success,” he said.
Medikal added that music plays a role in helping fans navigate their struggles.
“I rap to entertain and help people get over their problems and depressions,” he explained.
Responding to critics, the rapper suggested there is affection hidden behind the negativity he receives.
“Love is derived from hate. My haters love me,” he remarked.
He also spoke warmly about his relationship with Sister Derby, saying they maintain a good rapport and that she has been supportive throughout his career.
Medikal wrapped up the conversation by sharing the legacy he hopes to build.
“I want people to remember me for my realness. “I’m a real guy,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to authenticity in his life and music.
