The Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) has inaugurated a purpose-built Meditation Garden and Music Therapy Studio, marking a significant expansion of its wellness and medical tourism portfolio.
Situated at the HTH Annex in Kpogadzi along the Ho–Aflao road in the Volta Region, the new facility offers a tranquil sanctuary designed to support mental and emotional rejuvenation.
Through guided meditation and therapeutic music sessions, the centre seeks to reinforce the Hospital’s holistic healthcare model under its evolving Medical Tourism initiative.
The commissioning ceremony drew an esteemed gathering of diplomats, Board members, and senior management of the Hospital, who explored the facility’s immersive healing experience.
Among the distinguished attendees were Ambassador Jean Natho Dore, Ambassador of Guinea to Ghana; Mr Abdul Aziz Diallo, First Counsellor for Economic Affairs at the Guinea Embassy; H.E. Awoki Panassa, High Commissioner of Togo to Ghana; Amb. Dayo Adeoye, Acting Nigerian High Commissioner; Mrs Julia Ekeoma, Social Secretary to the High Commissioner; and Mr Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, Consultant for Volta Fair 2025.
Guests were taken through comprehensive preventive health screenings, guided meditation, physiotherapy exercises, and music therapy sessions facilitated by clinical psychologists.
According to the Hospital, the facility is intended to complement conventional medical treatments by easing stress, reducing anxiety, and enhancing the overall psychological resilience of patients. It will also serve as a wellness retreat for individuals seeking rest and recovery from demanding lifestyles.
The project reflects HTH’s strategic commitment to delivering integrated, patient-centred care that strengthens both physical and mental well-being.
The Meditation Garden and Music Therapy Studio are expected to become a defining feature of the Hospital’s therapeutic landscape.
H.E. Awoki Panassa, who also serves as Dean of the diplomatic corps, praised the initiative as “an experience worth undertaking” and urged the public to utilise the centre’s offerings.
Representing the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Human Resources, Mr Edmund Tsogbe, reiterated the Hospital’s aspiration to establish itself as Ghana’s leading medical tourism destination.
Mr Anthony Bells Kafui Kanyi, Medical Tourism Coordinator, revealed that the Hospital will introduce quarterly wellness retreats from next year, targeting both corporate groups and individual clients.
