The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, Abdul Rauf Tongym Tubazu, has assured that the government will cover the medical bills of victims affected by the Accra Newtown building collapse, describing the incident as a national concern.
He emphasised that it would be unfair to expect those injured to bear the cost of their treatment, stressing that it is the responsibility of the state to ensure they receive adequate care and support during this difficult period.
Mr Tubazu noted that authorities are already working to reach all affected persons to assess their needs and provide the necessary assistance.
He confirmed that one of the victims, a mother, has been successfully transferred to the 37 Military Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The MP reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting victims through their recovery, assuring that all necessary interventions will be provided to help them through this ordeal.
