The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed a swift and successful response to a fire outbreak at Forster Down, near Lakeside in the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra region, preventing what could have been a devastating inferno.
According to a statement released via the Service’s official Facebook page, the fire began when burning refuse spread unexpectedly, reaching a chamber-and-hall apartment window and extending to an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) utility pole nearby.
“The incident caused partial damage to the affected window but caused no injuries,” the GNFS reported.
The quick response also ensured the successful salvaging of a three-bedroom building and the adjoining chamber-and-hall apartment, including their contents, a feat hailed by residents as both timely and heroic.
