
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has launched the maiden edition of the MTN Elite U-19 Championship.
The launch of the event took place at the GFA Secretariat as the organisers conducted the groupings for the championships while also explaining the modalities of the tournament.
The championship will focus on players from all regions of Ghana coming together to compete for honours in another of the GFA’s path to fixing the fundamentals.
“Today marks a defining moment in the future of Ghana football; the launch of the MTN Elite U-19 Championship,” Chairman of the competition, Edem Agbana said.
“It’s not just a competition, it is a strategic investment in the next generation of football excellence.”
He also added that while this is only the first of its kind, they are willing to ensure it continues for the foreseeable future.
In attendance at the launch was the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, representatives from the Regional Football Associations and Committee members of the Elite U-19 Championship.
The competition is scheduled to begin from October 24 with the final set for November 2.
