The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MOGCSP) has assured the public it will act on all reported abuse cases, stressing that each report, whether recent or old, will be treated with utmost seriousness.
In a statement issued on November 23, the Ministry assured the public that it is taking these allegations seriously and that it is committed to investigating every case thoroughly.
“We want to assure the public that every issue brought to the Ministry’s attention is noted with the utmost seriousness,” the Ministry said.
This message comes in the wake of widespread concern about the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, particularly in cases where abuse has been captured in viral videos.
The Ministry expressed gratitude for the vigilance shown by the public, stating that such awareness is vital in the ongoing fight against violence.
“We commend and value the public’s vigilance in bringing these matters to our attention. Indeed, we need all hands on deck, and we will continue to count on you to report incidents of abuse and support efforts to protect the vulnerable in our society,” the statement continued.

In response to the growing number of reports, the Ministry confirmed that it has already begun providing vital support to victims. “Some victims of abuse are currently receiving the necessary psychosocial and legal support, including placement in safe shelters where needed,” the Ministry assured the public.
The Ministry further emphasised its collaboration with the Police, civil society organizations, and other agencies to ensure that thorough investigations are carried out into all cases of abuse.
“In collaboration with the Police, civil society organizations, and all relevant agencies involved in the fight against violence, investigations will be conducted into each case to ensure that perpetrators of these acts are held accountable,” the Ministry stated. “Crime has no expiration,” it added, signaling its commitment to pursuing justice for victims, no matter when the abuse occurred.
To maintain transparency and keep the public informed, the Ministry pledged to provide periodic updates on cases under investigation, in partnership with the Police.
The MOGCSP also urged the public to continue reporting incidents of abuse through official channels.
