A major fire outbreak has engulfed parts of the Madina Market in Accra, prompting an emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service as crews work to bring the situation under control.
According to a post shared on Facebook by GNFS, fire tenders from the Madina and Legon Fire stations were deployed to the scene after reports of the blaze emerged.
Firefighters are currently battling the inferno amid challenging conditions, as thick smoke billows over the bustling commercial hub.

Although the full extent of the damage is yet to be confirmed, preliminary observations suggest that several market stalls and goods may have been affected.

Traders and residents in the vicinity have been seen evacuating the area, while security personnel work to cordon off sections of the market to allow emergency services to operate effectively.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage, and officials say investigations will commence once the fire has been fully extinguished.
