Nollywood star Mercy Johnson has threatened legal action against online trolls and platforms that report fake news about her and her family.
The actress made the threat on Monday while reacting to the release of a TikTok content creator and blogger, Eedie Bliss, who alleged that Mercy Johnson’s husband bought a mansion for a mistress who got pregnant for him.
Eedie Bliss was released from detention on Saturday, January 17 2026, following public outcry.
Speaking for the first time over the issue, Mercy Johnson, in a video shared on her Instagram page on Monday, stated that “We have decided to withdraw the charges against the lady in question because of the love and respect we have for numerous individuals that reached out.”
While revealing her plans for the New Year 2026, Mercy vowed that “it’s no longer going to be business as usual for online trolls and platforms sharing false rumours against my family and me.”
She said, “Hi guys, good morning from the other side. First and foremost, let me just say thank you to all of you for supporting my craft. I do not take your love for granted. But I felt the need to say that business as usual is no longer going to be the case.
“I have plans later this year for things I have to do online, and having plans to make trouble and court cases is going to be part of them because some people just won’t leave my family and me alone.
