Black Stars defender Caleb Yirenkyi has been named August’s Young Player of the Month in the Danish Superliga.
The versatile player beat competition from FC Nordsjaelland teammate Prince Amoako Junior en route to claiming the top prize.
Other players who were also in contention for the award included Thomas Jorgensen, Clement Bischoff, Bismarck Edjeodji and Hjalte Bidstrup.
Yirenkyi has enjoyed a great start to the 2025/26 season, which has seen him score once and provide two assists in seven league games.
The 19-year-old scored just before the international break as Nordsjaelland came from a goal down to beat OB in the Danish top flight.
He was heavily involved in the international break as he featured in both of Ghana’s games in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
Yirenkyi returns to club football this month when Nordsjaelland take on Midtjylland on Sunday, September 14.
