The Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho, Nana Asafo-Adjei, has expressed profound gratitude, on behalf of the Church of Pentecost in the constituency, to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for his significant contribution towards the renovation of the church.
Welcoming Dr Bawumia to the Bosome Freho Constituency over the weekend as part of his campaign tour, Mr Asafo-Adjei disclosed that the former Vice President quietly provided financial support to facilitate the tiling of the church after a request was made by its leadership. Incidentally, the church served as the venue for Dr Bawumia’s engagements during the visit.
According to the MP, the support was offered without fanfare after the church leadership appealed for assistance during Dr Bawumia’s previous visit to the area.
“The last time Dr Bawumia was here, this entire place was not tiled, and the leadership of the church requested support. Later, Dr Bawumia called me and gave me money to finance the tiling of the whole place. Today, as you can all see, the entire building, both downstairs and upstairs, looks very beautiful,” he said.
He added that the church had mandated him to formally convey its appreciation to the former Vice President for the gesture.
“The church has asked me to express its profound gratitude to you for your kind support,” the MP noted.
Addressing New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates, Mr Asafo-Adjei made a strong case for Dr Bawumia’s election as the party’s flagbearer on January 31, describing him as the most deserving and capable among the five aspirants to lead the party back to victory.
He further praised Dr Bawumia’s humility, commitment to party unity and clear vision, as well as the impact he made during his tenure as Vice President.
