Newly elected NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged party members to maintain regular coordination and collective effort as part of preparations for the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Monday, February 2, at his residence during a congratulatory visit from party supporters, Dr Bawumia said collaboration would allow the party to identify and address challenges early.
“We need to work closely because if we don’t, there are many things that I will not know about. So we need to continue meeting and work together,” he said, underscoring the need for unity and shared purpose among party actors.
Dr Bawumia warned against delaying strategic planning, stressing that waiting too long could reduce the party’s chances of electoral success.
“People think three years is long but it isn’t. The earlier we start, the better it will be for us and deal with the problems that we see,” he noted.
He added that early voter engagement was key to winning back critical constituencies.
“We can talk to people, we can bring them on board and we can target people in the constituencies that we need to speak to if we are to win the seat back,” Dr Bawumia said.
