In a historic ceremony that drew statesmen, party stalwarts, and grassroots supporters, Francis Asenso-Boakye, Member of Parliament for Bantama and former Minister for Roads and Highways, officially commissioned and handed over an ultra-modern party office to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti region.
Personally funded by Asenso-Boakye, the state-of-the-art facility is widely regarded as one of the most modern constituency offices in Ghana.
It features eight executive offices, a kitchen, washrooms, and two spacious conference rooms — one seating 100 and the other 50.
The building provides dedicated working spaces for all constituency executives, including the Chairman, Secretary, Organiser, Research and Elections Officer, and Communications Director.
Envisioned as a hub for political strategy, party administration, and grassroots mobilisation, the facility reflects Bantama’s central role in the NPP’s electoral strength.
Remarks by Francis Asenso-Boakye
Asenso-Boakye expressed deep gratitude to former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for their mentorship and guidance throughout his political journey.
Paying tribute to Akufo-Addo, he said:
“Nana Addo has mentored me closely and instilled in me values such as honesty, selflessness, hard work, humility, and prioritising national interest over personal gain. These values have shaped my political journey over the years.”
On his special bond with Kufuor, he recalled:
“For me, it is not just politics, it is also family. When Nana Addo appointed me Deputy Chief of Staff, President Kufuor personally called to advise me never to demand money from businessmen who came seeking help. That admonition has stayed with me throughout my public service.”
Explaining the motivation behind the project, he stated: “Bantama is at the very heart of the NPP in terms of electoral strength, and it is important that it has its own office for party mobilisation. This office is my way of thanking our party officials for the love and trust they have consistently shown me.”

He further urged party members to embrace discipline and civility in political discourse:
“Let’s focus our energy on holding the NDC accountable, not on insulting one another. Our unity is the greatest tool for victory in 2028.”
Remarks by Former President John Agyekum Kufuor
Former President Kufuor hailed the achievement, stating: “I am honestly amazed at what Asenso-Boakye has delivered. This edifice is even more beautiful than our national headquarters. But I am not surprised — he has simply followed the path of his father, who was also a great developer.”
He emphasised unity as the cornerstone of the project’s true value:
“Without unity, this structure will not make sense. It is unity that will give it life and purpose.”
Commending Asenso-Boakye’s leadership, he added: “He has raised the standard for all MPs in the Ashanti Region. This should serve as a challenge for others to follow.”
Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, he noted: “I knew Asenso when he was still a TESCON student activist. To see how far he has come through hard work is truly inspiring.”
He ended with a call to discipline and cohesion: “If we hold together in unity, I believe by God’s grace, we shall surely return to power.”
Remarks by Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
Former President Akufo-Addo praised Asenso-Boakye’s foresight and generosity: “This is a remarkable edifice, and Asenso has set a new benchmark. It is now a challenge for other MPs and even aspiring chairmen to emulate this example.”
He highlighted the NPP’s unmatched governance record: “The work the NPP has done has never been matched since the inception of the Fourth Republic. Already, the difference between the NPP and the NDC is clear for all to see.”
With conviction, he concluded: “Insha Allah, with unity and hard work, we shall return to power in 2028.”
