The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has come to the aid of some 33 students from the Volta Regional Association at the University of Ghana by settling their tuition fees to the tune of Gh¢105,000.

Mr Afenyo-Markin, who shared his own experiences of hardship during his student days, encouraged the beneficiaries to make the most of this support to secure a brighter future.

He reminded them that opportunities such as these should serve as stepping stones to transform their lives and communities.
The President of the Volta Students Association (VORSA), Xorvi Gideon, expressed gratitude on behalf of the students, describing the gesture as timely.

He noted that the intervention would prevent many of his colleagues from deferring their courses or abandoning their education altogether due to financial constraints.

The donation underscores the Minority Leader’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young people, particularly those facing economic challenges.
