Bono Regional NPP Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, has been granted bail by the court in the sum of GH¢50,000.
It comes with one surety, without justification.
His lead counsel, Daniel Mantey Addo, disclosed that Abronye’s health condition has deteriorated, and news of the bail has brought him some relief.
The legal team is currently taking steps to meet the bail conditions to secure his immediate release.
On September 8, 2025, Abronye DC was arrested on a charge of “offensive conduct conducive to a breach of public peace.

Police say the arrest followed comments Abronye made publicly, including allegations against the Inspector General of Police and the ruling political party, which the authorities regarded as potentially inflammatory.
Shortly before his arrest, Abronye had submitted requests for political asylum to eight countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, Spain and Germany, citing persistent political persecution, threats to his life, and misuse of state security powers under the current government.
