Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones believes Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is set for a Premier League move following his sensational strike against his side.
Issahaku scored the decisive goal in Leicester City’s 1-0 victory over Charlton in an EFL Championship fixture on Saturday, August 23.
The 21-year-old, who has started all of Leicester’s league games this season, is gradually rediscovering his best form after recovering from a long-term ACL injury.
His moment of brilliance came when he created space against Charlton defender Josh Edwards before curling a superb effort into the top corner of Mads Hermansen’s goal.
Charlton manager Jones was full of admiration for the Ghana international, admitting that his quality was the difference in the match.
“He’ll end up in the Premier League in a week’s time. That was the only difference. It took a one-in-a-million strike to win the game for them from 30 yards,” Jones said.
Leicester City head coach Marti Cifuentes will be counting on Issahaku’s skill and creativity to inspire the Foxes in their push for promotion back to the Premier League.
