The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has presented 20 Nissan Navara pickup vehicles to the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) to improve its operational efficiency and nationwide mobility.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Minister said the vehicles would support the Service in carrying out its duties more effectively, particularly by improving mobility and response capacity.
He urged to officers to ensure the vehicles are used strictly for official purposes, pointing out the importance of accountability.
He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of the security agencies in line with the President’s vision for enhanced national security.

He commended the GIS for its dedication and encouraged officers to continue upholding professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Service, the Comptroller-General, Mr Samuel Basintale Amadu, described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to equipping security agencies.

He noted that the vehicles reflect the fulfilment of the President’s pledge to adequately resource the Immigration Service to enable it to effectively carry out its mandate.
He assured the Minister that the vehicles would be deployed responsibly and properly maintained to support border patrols and other operational activities.
