Home Affairs on Joy 99.7 FM will now air earlier than usual, beginning at 5:30am on Saturdays, starting January 31, 2026.
The change follows what the programme’s host Edem Knight-Tay describes as a sudden scheduling adjustment.
Despite the earlier start, Edem assures listeners that the essence of the programme remains unchanged.
“What has not changed and will never change is the soul of the programme,” she said.
“The conversations will remain just as rich, the counselling just as practical, and the expert insights just as grounded in real-life experiences.”
Home Affairs has, over the years, become a staple of Saturday mornings, known for its candid discussions on marriage, family life, emotional health, parenting, in-laws, and other sensitive issues often left unspoken.
According to Edem Knight-Tay, the programme has grown beyond radio content into a community.
“Our Saturday mornings together have built more than a radio programme; we’ve built a community,” she noted.
She also believes the earlier airtime could even enhance the show’s impact.
“There is something powerful about starting your Saturday at dawn, when the world is quiet and the mind is open,” she said, further intimating that the programme now becomes “the gentle but purposeful voice that sets the tone for your entire weekend.”
Listeners are being encouraged to adjust their routines slightly to accommodate the new time, tuning in during an early drive, over a cup of tea, or while resting in bed.
She also reassured sponsors and partners that the programme’s reach, relevance, and resonance remain strong, and that the trust invested in Home Affairs continues to be honoured through meaningful and impactful content.
“The clock has shifted, but the mission remains firm. Home Affairs at 5:30am is not just an earlier show; it is a more intentional moment,” Edem stated.
Home Affairs airs on Joy 99.7 FM every Saturday at 5:30am.
