The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced plans to establish a permanent office in Jomoro, Western Region, as part of its efforts to decentralise services and improve access to vehicle licensing and registration.
Leading a delegation to the area, DVLA Chief Executive Officer Julius Neequaye Kotey conducted a site inspection of a new Ultra Centre and officially broke ground for the construction of the permanent office.
Mr. Kotey explained that the project is part of the Authority’s broader mission to bring DVLA services closer to communities across the country.
He noted that operations will commence immediately through the Ultra Centre while construction of the permanent building is ongoing.
“The Ultra Centre is expected to open in the coming months, allowing residents of Jomoro and surrounding areas to access licensing and registration services without travelling long distances,” he said.
The DVLA CEO also revealed that vehicles registered at the new Jomoro station will carry the “JM” prefix or suffix, marking a significant milestone for the municipality.
He thanked local authorities and stakeholders for their support, describing the project as a major step forward in enhancing public service delivery in the community.
