Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has reaffirmed government’s commitment to implementing policies that generate sustainable employment opportunities, particularly for the youth.
Addressing members of the Ghanaian community in Iowa, USA, the Vice President said government remains focused on recognising and supporting the efforts of young people.
She encouraged Ghanaian students abroad to appreciate the solid foundation provided by Ghana’s educational system, which she noted continues to prepare many for global excellence.
She also urged them to give back to their country in any way possible, emphasising the importance of collective national development.
Promoting Food Security and Agricultural Transformation
Touching on other subjects, Professor Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the success of initiatives like the Feed Ghana Programme, which she said is helping the nation achieve food self-sufficiency and strengthen collaboration with the private sector.
According to her, these efforts are building a modern and productive agricultural economy, expected to create long-term employment for the youth under the government’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda.
Support for SMEs and Women Empowerment
The Vice President also assured of continued support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), stressing that government is creating an enabling environment for their growth through investment in innovation and improved access to finance.
She further underscored government’s commitment to advancing the welfare of women, noting that a nation thrives when its women are empowered.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang reiterated her resolve to champion the cause of women as part of government’s inclusive development drive.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude to the Ghanaian community in Iowa for their warmth, patriotism, and contribution to Ghana’s image abroad.
“Ghana remains open and ready to harness the ideas, skills, and investments of her citizens at home and abroad for progress,” she affirmed.
