Delivering the keynote address, the Vice-Chancellor of Methodist University Ghana (MUG), Prof. William Baah-Boateng, said the theme highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to accelerate national development.
He noted that the country faced major infrastructure and service delivery gaps, citing the US$37 billion annual infrastructure financing gap, an infrastructure quality score of 47/100, and investment levels slightly below peer countries.

Prof. Baah-Boateng emphasised that PPPs anchored in transparency, accountability and ethical leadership are vital for mobilising capital, sharing risk, and ensuring sustainable impact.

He referenced 23 PPP projects in the pre-investment phase valued at US$24.17 billion and 15 in the investment phase worth US$2.78 billion, stressing the importance of strong procurement and contract management.

He also highlighted the country’s growing PPP market, ranking 8th in Africa in 2023 for private participation in infrastructure, attracting US$137 million in investment, with a pipeline valued at US$8.4 billion.
On academia’s role, he said Methodist University Ghana trained ethical leaders, engages in executive training and fostered innovation, positioning universities as key pillars for sustainable PPP implementation.

He urged stakeholders to strengthen institutional trust, improve legal frameworks, promote visionary leadership, and embed sustainability into all PPP projects. Below is the full list of awardees,
